ParaGolf Canada is proud to announce Stan Smith, a world leader in Deaf Golf as ParaGolf Canada National Deaf Golf Program Development Manager.
Stan Smith has been very blessed and fortunate throughout his career in the golf industry. The game of golf has taken him all over the world as the Head Coach of the Canadian National and Olympic Deaf Golf Team.
“Stan has sat on different disability golf development committees, advocating for those with disabilities to try to help create a healthy, safe, and rich free environment with inclusion, equality, and diversity for everyone at all levels of play,” says Todd Keirstead, CEO and Founder of ParaGolf Canada. “Stan has witnessed that some disability groups are still being left out and are not being provided the same equal opportunities to participate and are not being acknowledged for their efforts, contributions, and accomplishments in the sport of golf in Canada. Stan comes with an incredible history and track record not only as the Head Coach of the Canadian National and Olympic Deaf Golf Team but also has over a decade of involvement with and as a Special Olympics Coach “
“I have seen firsthand the struggles, and obstacles that golfers with disabilities have had to face, endure, and overcome just to be able to play the sport that they all love. Golf promotes exercise, and mental health while helping with social and communication skills. Each and every one of us will deal with some sort of adversity at some point in our lifetime. When that day comes and with the continued hard work that is being done and the great strides that ParaGolf Canada is providing for a completely inclusive golfing society, it is great knowing that individuals will have even more opportunities to participate through adaptivity, inclusion, and equality,” says Stan Smith. “I am very humbled and honored to be given this amazing opportunity to be a part of ParaGolf Canada!
