ParaGolf Canada has announced that its partnership with adidas Golf Canada and TaylorMade Golf Canada extends to ParaGolf Canada members that are playing in the USGA Adaptive Open Championship on Course No.6 at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club, July 18-20.
As part of this agreement, ParaGolf Canada members will exclusively wear adidas Golf Canada’s premium golf apparel and headwear and carry TaylorMade Golf Canada products as part of the field-of-play uniform kit when representing ParaGolf Canada in the U.S. Adaptive Open Championship.
That championship will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play on Pinehurst No. 6. It is open to males and females, professionals and amateurs.
“Support for adaptive golfers competing on an international level has been severely lacking in the past to the point of non-existent,” said Todd Keirstead, founder, and CEO of ParaGolf Canada.
“Players have been seeking assistance from our industry leaders for years to no avail,” he added.
“With the partnership of adidas Golf Canada and TaylorMade Golf Canada to ParaGolf Canada members that will be competing in the USGA’s 15th major of the year, a group of golfers who have been underrepresented for far too long in the industry can feel proud when competing on a world stage as they now have the support of two giants in the golf industry,” he said.
“The U.S. Adaptive Open Championship is a very exciting event that will showcase Canadian adaptive golfers as they see their names recorded in the annals of golf history alongside many of the game’s storied figures,” said Keirstead.
“The field will consist of 96 international players and the Canadians will have a strong contingent heading south of the border,” he said.
Jeff Feltrin, general manager of adidas Golf Canada, adds that the partnership is in line with the company’s focus.
“Through our partnership with Todd Keirstead, we are excited to support the amazing ParaGolf Canada members who have been selected to compete in the inaugural United States Adaptive Open Championship,” said Feltrin.
“To have the great players from this country donning the adidas brand at Pinehurst in July epitomizes our brand’s focus on versatility and inclusivity within the game of golf. Through Todd’s vision, we look forward to continuing to grow the game of golf for golfers of all abilities,” he said.
“We are proud to support ParaGolf Canada team members as they travel to Pinehurst for the U.S. Adaptive Open Championship,” added TaylorMade Golf general manager David Bradley.
“We wish all participants the best of luck and are excited to add to what is expected to be a memorable experience for all,” said Bradley.
“This group of competitive golfers aligns with TaylorMade bringing a Beyond Driven approach to their games and we trust they will represent ParaGolf Canada at the highest level,” he said.
